Naples is known more for carefree lifestyles and a disregard for rules than arts and refinement, yet the city presents a number of opportunities to experience something a bit more unique than a red-light-running scooter. On September 19 and the first Saturday in May, the city stops all its scooters to celebrate its patron saint in the Festa di San Gennaro. Join the crowd to watch the procession on V. Duomo in May and see San Gennaro's blood (normally kept in the city's Duomo) miraculously liquefy, keeping the former settlement safe for another year.
