Midtown West holds some of the sights that first come to mind for people when they think of New York City: Times Square, Broadway, The Empire State Building, Madison Square Garden, and so on. Although (as you know from reading this guide) there is much more to New York than the sights that fit in this tiny area, the spectacle of the crowds frantically pursuing shopping and entertainment in Midtown West can be exciting. In all the bustle, don't miss the Museum of Modern Art. In the end, you'll want to check out these standby Manhattan sights, but don't feel guilty about leaving when the crowds and commercialism become overwhelming. There's much more to see elsewhere!
