The setting for the Honeymooners and Jungle Fever, Bensonhurst is one of the most famous neighborhoods of Brooklyn. Alternating between Italian pizzerias, Chinese restaurants, and bridal stores, 18th Ave. traverses southern Brooklyn, and shoppers will find extremely cheap clothes in the area’s discount stores. The area around Stillwell and Park Avenues has seen an influx of Russians from Brighton Beach, and, far from the skyscrapers of Manhattan, it has the feel of an ethnically diverse suburb. Borough Park is the largest Hasidic Jewish neighborhood in Brooklyn. In contrast to more visible Crown Heights Lubavitchers, the Bobovers of Borough Park prefer to maintain an insular community. As in the other Hasidic areas of Brooklyn, visitors feel more welcome when dressed conservatively. One of the coolest experiences Bensonhurst and Borough Park have to offer is the view from the D train between the Fort Hamilton Pkwy. and 50th St. subway stops. (Bensonhurst is bounded by 26th St. to the southeast, 61st St. to the northeast, 14th Ave. to the northwest, and Gravesend Bay to the southwest. S N to 18th Ave./64th St.; D, M to 62nd St., 71st St., 79th St., 18th Ave. Borough Park is north of Bensonhurst.)
