New York City:

OTHER USA DESTINATIONS

New York City Bay Ridge

Bay Ridge, scene of John Travolta’s strutting in Saturday Night Fever, is full of Italian bakeries, pizza joints, rowdy youth, and discount stores. The neighborhood centers on 86th Street. Nearby Shore Road is lined with mansions overlooking New York Harbor. The majestic, 4260 ft. long Verrazano-Narrows Bridge is the only way to connect to Staten Island by automobile. When it opened in 1964, it was the world’s longest suspension bridge, and it is still admired as an engineering feat. (Bounded by Belt Pkwy. to the west, 101st St. to the south, Fort Hamilton Pkwy. to the east, 65th St. to the north. S R to Bay Ridge Ave., 77th St., 86th St., Bay Ridge/95th St.)
