The Bronx Museum Of The Arts. Located in the rotunda of the Bronx Courthouse, the museum’s two small galleries exhibit provocative works by contemporary and local artists, with a focus on Latino, African-American, and Asian talents. The museum seeks to showcase artists who have lived or worked in the Bronx, or whose work addresses Bronx-related themes. Past exhibits have included Urban Mythologies: The Bronx Represented Since the 1960s and One Planet Under a Groove: Hip Hop and Contemporary Art. The museum encourages the community to create textual and visual responses to the permanent collection and mounts the (often nutty) viewer feedback alongside the original work.
