Option 1: you can call the ticket line to reserve up to four tickets. This should be done around one month in advance. If you are not on top of your game one month ahead of time, do not despair! You can still get standby tickets by lining up outside of 30 Rockefeller Plaza no later than 9am on the day of the taping.
