Language And Religion. English (for some quirks of Australia English, see Glossary of ’Strine) is Australia’s only national language, spoken in over 80% of Australian homes. According to the 2006 census, about 64% of Australians declare themselves Christians; non-Christian religions comprise about 6%. The rest either identify with no religion or chose not to respond.
