- Theatre Royal, 29 Campbell St. (☎03 6233 2299). The oldest theater in Australia. Stages plays, musicals, song and dance shows, comedy festivals, and a variety of other
crowd-pleasers. Box office open M-F 9am-5pm, Sa 9am-1pm. $25-50.
- Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, 1 Davey St. (☎1800 001 190), in the Federation Concert Hall at the Grand Chancellor. Over 50 years old and holds performances every few weeks. Box office
open M-F 9am-5pm, Sa concert days from 5pm, and all concert nights from 6pm. $35-49, concessions $20.
