Copenhagen (København) Local Transportation

Public Transportation: Copenhagen has an extensive public transportation system. Buses (☎3313 1415; www.moviatrafik.dk) run daily 5:30am-12:30am.
- S-togs (subways and suburban trains; ☎3314 1701) run M-Sa 5am-12:30am, Su 6am-12:30am. S-tog tickets are covered by Eurail, ScanRail, and InterRail passes.
- Metro (☎015 1615; www.m.dk) is small but efficient. All 3 types of public transportation operate on a zone system. To travel any distance, a 2-zone ticket is required (19kr; additional zones 9.50kr), which covers most of Copenhagen. For extended stays, the best deal is the rabatkort (rebate card; 120kr), available from supermarkets, corner stores, and kiosks, which offers 10 2-zone tickets at a discount. The 24hr. pass (115kr), grants unlimited bus and train transport in the Northern Zealand region, as does the Copenhagen Card (see Practical Information below).
- Night buses, marked with an “N,” run 12:30-5:30am on limited routes and charge double for bus fare; they do accept the 24hr. pass as payment.
Taxis: Københavns Taxa (☎3535 3535) and Hovedstadens Taxi (☎3877 7777) charge a base fare of 19kr and then 11-16kr/km. København to Kastrup Airport costs 200kr.
Bike Rental: City Bike (☎3616 4233; www.bycyklen.dk) lends bikes mid-Apr. to Nov. from 110 racks all over the city for a 20kr deposit. Anyone can return your bike and claim your deposit, so keep an eye on it.
