To fuel up, the Mercado Libertador’s restaurants and food stands provide good fare for a good value. In the late afternoon, stroll over to the Ex-Convento del Carmen and catch a classic flick before retiring to the Parque de la Revolución, just west of Federalismo, where couples, friends, and youth while away the evening.

For a dose of theater, there’s the Teatro Experimental, which despite its name performs major mainstream works as well. The theater, recognizable by the large obelisk in front of it, is nestled in a corner of the Parque Agua Azul along Calzada Independencia Sur. Shows run for several days.
