Home to substantial cities like Limoges and Brive-la-Gaillarde, the rural region of Limousin has just recently caught up with France’s pace. Until the 70s, the majority of non-urban residents still spoke Occitan. Today, Limousin is known for its beef farming, porcelain production, and sleepy villages.
