Madrid Camping

Tourist offices have the Guía Oficial de Campings, which provides info on the 22 campsites surrounding Madrid, as well as in the Comunidad de Madrid. For further camping info, contact the Consejería de Educación (☎901 51 06 10).

  • Camping Alpha (☎916 95 80 69; www.campingalpha.com). Site 12.4km down Ctra. de Andalucía in Getafe. M: Legazpi. From the metro, walk down Vado Santa Catalina, cross the bridge, and bear right. Take the green bus #447, which stops across from the Museo de Jamón (10min., every 20-30min. 6am-10pm, €1.25). Ask for the Camp Alpha stop. Cross the footbridge and walk 1.5km back toward Madrid along the busy highway; follow the signs. Welcoming reception, paved roads, pool, tennis courts, showers, and laundry. Oct-June €5.44 per person; June-Sept. €6.80 per person. €7 per tent and per car. Bungalows for 1-2 €52/63; for 3-4 €79/94; for 5 €85-100. IVA not included.
