Lonely Beach Overview
Although this once-secluded beach is now connected to the rest of the world, it is one of the most chilled-out, tailor-made
backpacker hideouts in Thailand.
- Treehouse Bungalow (☎081 847 8215), at the far southern end of the beach, is the place that started it all. Bamboo huts with mattresses on the floor look out
onto the water. Treehouse gives off a bohemian vibe that exemplifies the Southeast Asian backpacker experience. Huts with
shared bath and bucket showers. High-season singles 120฿, doubles 280-300฿; low-season 80/150-200฿. A second Treehouse for
hard-core solitude seekers and lovers of rustic simplicity has been built on isolated Long Beach on the eastern coast.
- Nature Beach Resort (☎039 558 027). Boasts beachside bungalows of the well-kept bamboo variety with private bath. Travelers won’t be bored here with bicycles
(250฿ per day) and kayaks (80฿ per hr.) for rent. Nature Beach also has a library filled with books for borrowing. High-season
double huts with fan 400-800฿, bigger rooms with A/C 1300฿; low-season 200-500/900฿.
- Orchid Resort (☎039 558 139; www.websoldat.at/orchid), in the small community of Bailan located between Lonely Beach and Bang Bao. Orchid is a great
place to find solitude and still stay close to the amenities and hippie flavor of Lonely Beach. Bungalows are connected by
lovely garden paths leading to the cliffs. Bungalows 250-600฿.
