Lisboa Alfama
The winding streets of Alfama conceal a number of small and simple restaurants, often packed with locals. The Rua da Padaria
and the area around its intersection with Rua dos Bacalhoeiros offers the cheapest options in Lisboa.
- À Minha Maneira, Largo do Terreiro do Trigo 1 (☎218 86 11 12; www.a-minha-maneira.pt). Once a bank, the old vault has been revamped into a wine closet. Various meat and fish dishes with little choice for vegetarians.

- Churrasqueira Gaúcha, R. dos Bacalhoeiros, 26C-D (☎218 87 06 09). Portuguese food cooked to perfection in a comfortable, cavernous setting. One of the best restaurants on a street already
packed with great deals. Incredibly fresh meat, poultry, and fish. No vegetarian options. Entrees €8-12. Open M-Sa 10am-midnight.

- Flôr da Sé, Largo Santo António da Sé, 9-11 (☎218 87 57 42). Next to the Santo Antonio church. This pastelaria is extremely clean, brightly lit, and serves quality food at some of the lowest prices in Lisboa. The lunchtime prato do dia (€4) is scrumptious, and the varied selection of desserts and candies taste as good as they look. Open M-F and Su 7am-8pm.
