For addresses of British embassies in countries not listed here, consult the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (☎020 7008 1500; www.fco.gov.uk). Some cities have a local British consulate that can handle most of the same functions as an embassy.
Almost every town in Ireland has a tourist office, with services ranging from useful (free local maps and pamphlets, transportation schedules, and accommodations booking services) to partial (e.g., a list of only those accommodations that have paid them a fee). All national tourist boards offer information on hikes, parks, and trails. Below are the main offices of the national tourist boards; for countries not listed here, check www.ireland.ie and www.discovernorthernireland.com.
