Two train lines connect Heidelberg and Heilbronn, with stops in the small towns along both sides of the valley. Local buses also traverse the Neckar Valley, but one- and three-day train passes from Heidelberg are also valid for bus connections in the valley. Check at the train station in Heidelberg for details. One of the best and most popular ways to explore the valley is by biking along the many well-maintained routes or hopping a ferry up the Neckar. The Rhein-Neckar Fahrgastschifffahrt runs boat tours from Easter to Oct. 19 between Heidelberg, Neckargemünd, Neckarsteinach, Hirschhorn, and Eberbach.
