Funiculars: 3 cableways, located at the edges of Bolzano, carry visitors to nearby mountain towns. For info, visit either the tourist office or the alpine info office.
- Funivia del Colle, V. Campiglio 7 (☎0471 97 85 45). The world’s oldest cableway leads from V. Campiglio to Colle or Kohlern (9min., every 30-60min., daily June-Sept. 7am-noon and 1-7:30pm, Oct.-May 7am-noon and 1-7pm. €3, round-trip €4; children under 14 and adults over 65, €1.50; bikes €2.) No baggage or dogs allowed.
- Funivia San Genesio, V. Rafenstein 15 (☎0471 97 84 36), off V. Sarentino, across the Talvera River, near Ponte Sant’Antonio. Connects Bolzano to Salto’s high plateaus (8min., every 30 minutes, daily from mid-June to mid-Sept. 10am-12:30pm and 2:30-7pm, from mid-Sept. to mid-June 9am-12:30pm and 2:30-6pm. €3.50; €2 per bike.)
Public Transportation: SASA (☎0471 45 01 11). All lines stop in P. Walther or the station at V. Perathoner 4. Buy tickets (€1) at tabaccherie or from machines near stops.
