Gubbio Transportation and Practical Information

The nearest train station is in Fossato di Vico, 15km away and on the Rome-Ancona line. Trains run to Ancona (1hr., 14 per day, from €4.30), Rome (2hr., 12 per day, €10.12), and Spoleto (1hr., 10 per day, €3.36). APM buses (☎075 50 67 81) run to and from Perugia (1hr.; M-F 9 per day, Sa-Su 4 per day; €4.50) and are much more convenient than the train. The bus is the easiest way to reach Gubbio from Fossato (M-Sa 11 per day, Su 5 per day; €2). Tickets are sold at the newsstand in P. Quaranta Martiri, at the Perugia bus stop, and at the newsstand in Fossato’s train station. If stranded in Fossato without bus service, call a taxi (☎075 91 92 02 or 033 53 37 48 71; €28 per 20min.). In Gubbio, taxis (☎075 92 73 800) are available in P. Quaranta Martiri.

Tiny Gubbio’s medieval streets are easily navigable. Buses stop in Piazza Quaranta Martiri, where you can find a 24hr. ATM. A short walk up V. della Repubblica, on the far right of P.
