Situated between Rome and Florence, trains from Orvieto run to Arezzo (1hr., every hr. 7:30am-11:22pm, €6.10), Florence (2hr., every hr. 7:30am-8:33pm, €10.40) via Cortona (45min.), and Rome (1hr., every hr. 4:30am-11:28pm, €7.10). Buses leave from P. Cahen and the train station. COTRAL (☎0763 73 48 14) runs buses to Viterbo (8 per day 6:20am-5:45pm, €2.80). Purchase tickets at tabaccherie. ATC buses (☎0763 30 12 24) stop in P. Cahen and go to Perugia (1hr., 5:55am, €6.65) and Todi (1hr., 1:05pm, €5.40). Purchase tickets at the funicular ticket office, at tabaccherie on C. Cavour, or on the bus with a surcharge. The funicular ascends Orvieto’s hill, connecting the train station with the city’s historical center at P. Cahen (every 10min.; one-way ticket including bus ride €0.95, day ticket €3.70, 10% group discount).
