Across from the train station, located in Piazza G. Matteotti, the funicular travels up the hill to Piazza Cahen. From there, Corso Cavour runs slightly uphill from P. Cahen to Piazza della Repubblica. About 10min. from P. Cahen, C. Cavour crosses Via del Duomo. At this intersection, turn left down V. del Duomo to reach the duomo. If you continue instead two blocks down C. Cavour, a right turn on Via della Piazza del Popolo will bring you to Piazza del Popolo. Many of the city’s most popular restaurants, hotels, and shops can be found between V. Duomo and the P. della Repubblica along C. Cavour. The tourist office is at P. del Duomo 24. (☎0763 34 17 72. The office next door sells the Orvieto Unica card (€18, students €15), which includes an underground tour, round-trip ticket for funicular-minibus, 5hr. of parking, and entrance to select sights, as well as discounts at participating businesses.
