Museen Dahlem. The Museen Dahlem consists of three museums housed within Dahlem’s Freie Universität . The Ethnologisches Museum (Ethnology Museum) dominates the main building, a white Bauhaus complex. The exhibits are stunning, ranging from massive pieces of ancient Central American stonework to African elephant tusk statuettes. Most surprising are the enormous, authentic boats from the South Pacific and the model huts that you can actually enter. Under the same roof, the recently inaugurated Museum für Asiatiche Kunst (Museum for Asian Art) combines Dahlem’s collection of Indian art, featuring ornate gilded shrines and brightly painted murals, with East Asian holdings, including dynastic furniture and tapestries. The Museum Europäischer Kulturen (Museum of European Culture) is around the corner, fronted by an imposing columned facade. (Arnimallee 27.
