Barcelona Upper Barri Gòtic

This section of the Barri Gòtic is between C. Fontanella and C. Ferran, and accommodations are closer to Pl. Catalunya and L’Eixample and a little farther from the rougher lower section of the neighborhood. Portal de l’Àngel, a chic pedestrian avenue, runs through the middle and is busy during the day but, unlike Las Ramblas, quiets down at night. Rooms are pricier here, though it may be worth it for a retreat from the continuous late-night revelry of lower Barri Gòtic.
