Lodging is not Barceloneta’s forte, and rooms, especially cheap ones, are hard to come by. Hostels can be found in the area around Barceloneta, L4.

Pensión Francia, C. Rera Palau, 4 (☎933 19 03 76). Barceloneta, L4. Head right toward Pl. Palau, cross Pl. Palau, and turn right onto Av. Marqués de l’Argentera; C. Rera Palau is the 2nd left. Comfortable, airy rooms with balconies and TVs. The spotless shared bathrooms. Easy access to Barceloneta, La Ribera, and the Estació de França. Doubles with shower €50, with full bath €60; triples €65. MC/V.
Hostal del Mar, Pl. del Palau, 19 (☎ 902 22 22 70; www.gargallo-hotels.com). Barceloneta, L4. From the station, head up the street away from the water toward Pl. de Palau, turn left and cross the plaça in front of the palace; it will be on the other side of the plaça. A popular, comfortable hostel. Singles €24; doubles €43, with shower €48, with full bath €58; triples €55/65/72; quads €71/85/85. MC/V.
Pensión Palacio, Pg. Isabel II, 10 (☎933 19 36 09; www.pensionpalacio.com). Barceloneta. Cheerful, brightly colored rooms at some of the lowest prices around. Towels €1. Free internet. Singles €20-25; doubles €40-50; triples €60-75, with bath €75-90, quads €80-100/€100-120. MC/V with 7% fee.
Sea Point, Pl. del Mar 1-4 (☎932 24 70 75; www.equity-point.com). Barceloneta. Follow Pg. Joan de Borbó until Pl. del Mar and enter the hostel through the cafe on the right side of the building. Not quite as sharp-looking as the other Barcelona equity-point hostels, but offers unbeatable beach access, just steps away from Platja Sant Sebastian. Kitchen access. Breakfast included. Extra linens, blankets, and towels €2 each. Free internet. Dorm-style beds in low season €15-20, in high season €21-25. MC/V.
