Sarrià is a beautiful neighborhood of private residences with manicured gardens. Walking its shaded streets, or lounging in one of its parks, provides welcome respite from the noisy, occasionally grim city center. The area is relatively inaccessible by Metro and has few budget accommodations. If you do stay out here, it’s best to do so with a friend—prices will be slightly lower when you’re sharing a room, and with few other tourists around, you may want the company.

For 52 years, we have published the world’s favorite budget travel guides, written entirely by students and updated every year. With pen and notebook in hand and a few changes of underwear stuffed in our backpacks, we spend months roaming the globe in search of travel bargains.
