Restaurants near the cathedral cater almost exclusively to tourists. Food quality and prices improve as you walk down side streets and away from major attractions.

  • Bar Entrecalles, Ximenez de Enciso, 14 Situated at the center of the tourist buzz, but the reggae music and relaxed atmosphere help maintain a local following. Tapas (only available inside, €2) and delicious gazpacho (meal-sized potion €6) are unusually generous. Open daily 1pm-2am. Kitchen closed 3:30­-8pm
  • Levíes Café-Bar, C. San José, 15 The bar at this tapas restaurant predominates, pouring out deliciously liberal and refreshing glasses of tinto de varano (€1.45) and gazpacho (€3.30). Tapas €2.60-3.90. Entrees €6-12. Open M-F 7:30am­2am, Sa-Su 11am­-2am.
  • Histórico Horno San Buenaventura, SA, Av. de la Constitución, 16 A restaurant/bar/deli/pastry shop, Histórico Horno hosts a delightfully indulgent selection of everything from ice cream and pastries to stews and gourmet jamón. Breakfast until 12:45pm. Takeout available. Open M-Sa 8am-­11pm, Su 9am-­11pm
