Beyond Tourism
By law in France, a service charge is added to bills in bars and restaurants, called “service compris”. Most people do however, leave some change (up to 2€) for drinks and food, and in nicer restaurants it is not uncommon to leave 5% of the bill. For other services, like taxis and hairdressers, 10-15% tip is acceptable.

For 52 years, we have published the world’s favorite budget travel guides, written entirely by students and updated every year. With pen and notebook in hand and a few changes of underwear stuffed in our backpacks, we spend months roaming the globe in search of travel bargains.
