La Tertulia, Prinsengracht 312 (www.coffeeshopamsterdam.com), For over 20 years, people have been enjoying this mother-and-daughter-run shop. Fresh and relaxed, the store is filled with plants and crystals. In good weather, white garden tables sit on the sidewalk for patron use. Impressive selection of weed and hash; their Bubblegum is especially popular. Tram #7, 10, or 17 to Elandsgracht. Walk down Elandsgracht and make a right onto Prinsengracht. Sanementereng, 2e Laurierdwarsstraat 44 (☎062 520 41), Don't be deceived by the vintage clutter outside—this is a coffeeshop, not an antiques store. The rickety building (it's supported by some leaning tree trunks) does provide one of the most unique places to smoke in the city: everything from Indonesian puppets to old kitchen utensils is scattered about. Decent selection of weed and hash at very low prices. Tram #10, 13, 14, or 17 to Marnixstraat/Rozengracht. Walk east on Rozengracht and left onto 2e Laurierdwarsstraat.
