Prague (Praha) Holesovice
- Cross Club, Plynární 1096/23 (www.crossclub.cz), Possibly the coolest club you will ever attend, Cross Club exists over five or six stories, including a five-level patio. The club works like this: half of the club is “pay to enter” and the other half, the cafe and restaurant, is free. But here's the rub—none of these places are connected. In other words, you get a stamp and then you wander between the rooms, all decorated with the most amazing assortment of industrial steel. The crowds err on the side of Czech, but internationals can be found about. The real treats are the various “themed rooms” that you discover making your way through the multi-level club. One room is only tall enough to sit in, and you have to crawl to your seat; another is lit only by narrow lamps made from car engines. The club also features several incredibly cheap food options, like hamburgers (39Kč) and fried cheese (39Kč), at different stations. As if this wasn't enough, the upstairs has two speciality shops, one fe C: Nádraží Holešovice. From the station, head south through the bus station to Na zátorách. - Club Meca, U Průlomu 3 (www.mecca.cz), If a club's quality can be judged by the number of disco balls hanging above its dance floor, then Mecca's quality is 40. Overpriced drinks look good in the hands of the well-dressed clientele who sometimes boogy on the fancy glowing dance floor. Guest DJs from Vienna, Paris, London, and the States spin some quality tunes, but if the dance floor DJ isn't doing it for you, just follow the red-light runway downstairs to the “chill out” room where a different DJ spins a slightly more relaxed groove. - Fraktal, Šmeralova 178/1 (☎77 779 4094; www.fraktalbar.cz), Also a great local restaurant of the neighborhood, Fraktal serves double duty as one of the liveliest and most colorful late night pubs. Has great American drunk food, like quesadillas (135-155Kč). Funky bar features some artwork that may have been created by by children as well as some that definitely was. Seats come in all shapes and sizes; a raised leather bench serves as seating at the bar alongside regular stools, and an elevated table in one corner seems to be reserved for hobbits. Eclectic mix of locals and internationals, especially on the weekends. C: Vltavská. From the station, follow Bubenské nábřeží to the right.
