With all of the sexual humor and latent homoeroticism in Shakespeare’s classics, you can see why Great Britain has become such a GLBT hotspot in Europe. While the nation has proven itself to be progressive in granting rights to GLBT couples, the country has yet to legalize same-sex marriages and in many rural areas of the country, homosexuality is somewhat frowned upon. Metropolitan centers like London and Edinburgh are the hubs of GLBT life and tourism in Great Britain. GLBT communities exist, though, in most cities throughout the country, including Glasgow, Brighton, and Liverpool.
