Tangier Nightlife

The most popular evening activity in Tangier is sipping mint tea in one of the city's many cafes. While most cafes are all-male, Let's Go picks cater to both genders. To drink something stronger than tea, make your way to the Tangier Inn next to Hotel El Muniria. If you want to go dance, hit up one of the discotheques along the beach on Av. d'Espagne, but be prepared to attract the attention of Moroccan women looking for more than a good time.

  • Tangier Inn, 1 rue Magellan An intimate basement bar that provides cold beer and hot hip hop. Attracts a cosmopolitan mix of men and women, both local and foreign. Known as the hippest place to party in town. Next to Hotel El Muniria. Cash only. Beer 20dh. Does not take credit cards. Serves alcohol.
  • Cafe de Paris, 1. Pl. de France (☎05 39 93 84 44), Famous for hosting countless meetings between spies during WWII—and more recently serving Matt Damon—Cafe de Paris couldn't be more central. Watch the crowds pass through Pl. de France, then go take in the view of Spain from the nearby Terrace des Paresseux after you've finished your tea or coffee, At the corner of rue de la Liberté and Blvd. Pasteur, right in Pl. de France. Does not take credit cards.
