Blindingly white seaside villas with frilly gables and wide balconies embody the Bäderarchitecktur (spa architecture) of Rügen’s largest, liveliest, and most elegant resort town (pop. 5500). Nudists bare all at Binz’s clothing-optional FKK (Free Body Culture) beaches, tastefully situated at either end of town. Jazz crooners make frequent appearances on the stage by the Kurplatz pier.
