Buenos Aires Cinemas
There’s no shortage of cinemas in Buenos Aires, from art house establishments to smaller independent theaters and massive
megaplexes. Many of the city’s older theaters can be found on the section of Avenida Corrientes in Microcentro, though the newer, flashier complexes tend to be in more residential areas. Still, a number of the city’s
major shopping centers, including Patio Bullrich , Galerías Pacífico , and Abasto house sleek cinemas. Throughout the city, Hollywood blockbusters are by far the easiest to find, though the larger
theaters will also show Argentine and foreign films, as will the smaller, independent theaters; the MALBA , for example, runs an excellent series of art films. Most foreign films will be in the original language with Spanish
subtitles, though this is not always the case; check beforehand to avoid bad dubbing. We’ve listed a selection of centrally
located cinemas below, though there are many, many more; check out www.infobae.com/cartelera/destacadas_cine.html for a complete
