Buenos Aires Palermo

Though other barrios have excellent bars and clubs, Palermo has the majority of the city’s most popular nightlife establishments. Palermo Soho and Palermo Hollywood are packed with new bars and clubs, while Las Cañitas to the north has an additional concentration of bars. Nightlife here, however, shuts down relatively early for Palermo—usually around 3 or 4am. The opposite is true of Costanera Norte along the river, where the flashy clubs stay open until well after sunrise. Many of Palermo’s bars and clubs are the domain of the city’s wealthier 20-somethings and tourists, but there are a number of alternative, more relaxed establishments, particularly in Palermo Soho and in the southeastern corner, where there are several excellent GLBT bars and clubs .
