Germany enjoys a seasonal temperate climate. Throughout most of the country, summers are mild and winters are rarely snowy. Conditions in the mountainous south can be more extreme but usually just extreme enough to keep the slopes groomed for ski season. Summers, on the other hand, are frankly balmy. The plains in the north tend to be wet and windy throughout the year.
