Hawaii is a diverse place where no ethnic group stands out as an obvious minority. Caucasians may be uncomfortable with being called a haole (foreigner), but in general, if you treat the island and its inhabitants with respect, the same respect will be afforded to you. While there are relatively few people of African descent in Hawaii, racial prejudice against blacks is extremely rare.
