Hawaii Studying

  • Visa Information. Foreign students who wish to study in the US must apply for either an F-1 visa (for full-time students enrolled in an academic or language program) or M-1 visa (vocational studies). Visas may be obtained at the US Embassy or Consulate in your country. Visit the Destination USA study abroad website (http://www.unitedstatesvisas.gov/studying.html) for current infromation on the process and a list of embassies and consulates. If English is not your native language, you will probably be required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) as part of the admission process. Contact TOEFL/TSE Publications, P.O. Box 6151, Princeton, NJ 08541 (☎609-771-7100; www.toefl.org).
