Central Scotland Overview

Less rugged than the Highlands to the north and more subdued than the cities to the south, central Scotland has draws all of its own. The eastern shoulder, curving from Fife to the Highland Boundary Fault along the North Sea, has centuries-old communities and historical landmarks. To the west, the landscape flattens from snow-covered peaks into the plains of the Central Lowlands. Escape Celts and kilts in the remote Inner Hebrides, where palm trees, stucco homes, and sandy beaches offer a relaxing change from the mainland.

  • Admire the 5 ft. sword of William Wallace and one of Britain’s grandest castles in Stirling, the historic royal seat of Scotland.
  • Relax on the bonnie, bonnie banks of Loch Lomond before exploring the Trossachs , Scotland’s first national park .
  • Drink famous Islay whisky at one of the island’s many distilleries .
