Kithera Κύθηρα Overview

According to myth, Cronus castrated his father Ouranos and threw his genitals into the sea. What washed up onto the shores of Kithera eventually became the goddess Aphrodite. Visitors, fortunately, do not have to make similar sacrifices to see why the island is divine. Beaches and coves stashed away in the island’s 52km of coastline and dramatic ravines leading to Byzantine ruins are just a little of what the island has to offer. The island, still protected by its remote location, remains blissfully untouched by mass tourism.
