Kalymnos is most famous for its stunning landscape. Statuesque mountains slope onto purple-tinted meadows, punctuated with cliffs framing serene, blue-green beaches. Most travelers come here for the excellent rock climbing and diving, but even less rugged visitors can appreciate Kalymnos’s breathtaking beauty. Arrive at Pothia and get to the Western Coast as soon as you can to avoid the hectic traffic of the main port town. Though more heavily visited than its western neighbor Astypalea, Kalymnos manages to retain its small-island charm alongside all the conveniences of a tourist destination.
