Beyond Tourism
Perhaps one of the swankiest neighborhoods in Paris, the 16eme is home to the ladies who lunch, their beautiful children, and their overworked husbands. Its elegant, boutique-lined streets are calmer than surrounding areas, and offer a glimpse into the lives of Parisian elites. Backlit by fabulous views of the Eiffel Tower, the neighborhood is home to a number of museums and attractions, and elderly local pedestrians are often swamped by mobs of eager sightseers. Trocadero witnesses the heaviest tourist traffic, with breakdancing street performers, sprawling gardens, and the best “I've been to Paris” photo opps.

For 52 years, we have published the world’s favorite budget travel guides, written entirely by students and updated every year. With pen and notebook in hand and a few changes of underwear stuffed in our backpacks, we spend months roaming the globe in search of travel bargains.
