Beyond Tourism
While not really worth a separate trip, the 20 ème ’s sole museum, La Maison de l’Air, makes for an interesting addendum to a leisurely afternoon spent lounging in the Parc de Belleville .
La Maison De L’Air. Aimed at children age 8-11 years old, this one-floor museum helps you hear, smell, and touch your way into a broader understanding of the air around you. Interactive exhibits investigate the atmosphere, meteorology, and pollution—a major problem in Paris. Occasional themed weekends encourage further hands-on investigation, and the surrounding Parc de Belleville provides amazing views. (27 rue Piat, 20ème. ☎01 43 28 47 63. Pyrénées. Walk down the sloping rue de Belleville and turn left on rue Piat. Open Apr.-Sept. Tu-F 1:30-5:30pm, Su 1:30-6:30pm; Oct. and Mar. Tu-Su 1:30-5:30pm; Nov.-Feb. Tu-Su 1:30-5pm. Free.)
