I was thinking of a way to say that this is an unexpected thing to be in the middle of the city, and for some reason I was going to make some riff on 

"No one expects the Spanish Inquisition!"

But then I realized that actually, the Spanish Inquisition is not so unexpected in mesoamerica. So there goes that.
