Let's Go Make Sense of the World: A Photo Contest

THIS WEEK'S CATEGORY: "HEAR"

We know you’re out to experience the world in a variety of ways this winter, so we’ll make this easy for you: directly translate your sensory experiences into images according to the theme “Let’s Go Make Sense of the World.”

Who said photos can only satisfy “sight”? The challenge is to show us that those images exude the exotic smells, tastes, sounds, and feels that they capture. And, of course, satisfy “sight,” too—in whatever creative way works for you. Surprise us.  

As the nifty little graphic above should tell you, the categories are: 

•  See (January 16-January 22)
• Touch (January 23-January 29)
• Taste (January 30-February 3)  
• Smell (February 6-February 12)  
• Hear (February 13-February 19)  (This week!)

Interpret freely, because we know and appreciate the value of improvisation—especially when traveling.

HOW TO ENTER

To enter, follow these two easy steps: 

1. Fill out this Submission Form. 
2. Submit your photo via the “Submit your travel narrative/photo/link” button on this very page to the right! Make sure that you include your name, your email address, what category you’re submitting it for, and a location and/or caption for your photo.

Though keep in mind the submission requirements as follows:

• Each individual may submit up to three photos for each week’s category.
• Each photo must be 500 px wide and saved as a jpg file.

PRIZES

But why would you enter? For the prizes, of course! 

Each week, three category winners will be selected and featured on www.letsgo.com,Triptrotting.com, the Let’s Go and Triptrotting Facebook pages, and Let’s Go and Triptrotting’s Twitter pages.

But Let’s Go and Triptrotting have an even BIGGER prize in store for overall best photo and runner-up throughout the entire competition, which will be announced on the very last day of the contest.

The Let’s Go Make Sense of the World’s Overall Photo Contest Winner, deemed as such by impartial, adventure-loving students with an aesthetic eye at Let’s Go Headquarters, will receive:

• Featured article on www.letsgo.com about you and your travel experience related to your photo
• Your photo featured on Let’s Go and Triptrotting’s social media outlets
