Sorry! You aren't allowed to view that post.
I have no idea why I am so scared of dogs. Many are cute. They stick out their tongues, run around and play catch. But you never know when a dog will not be one of the nice ones. At least I know most people will not bite me (except for that three-year-old who had yet to learn that words are better than teeth).
There are stray dogs all around Costa Rica. I am fine when I'm in a town and people are about. At least I could screech for help if anything was to happen and someone would come running (Ticos have been extremely helpful thus far). But there have been instances when I see a little rascal up ahead in the streets and no one else is around so I quickly retrace my steps. Or, if one follows me, I brace for the worse. I blame this one incident when I was younger and almost was attacked by a big black dog. And I also blame the fact that I never had a pet growing up, except for lizards raced into our Texan home whenever we would open the door. Basically, I am making excuses for being a scaredy cat.
Yet another thing to put on my to-get-over list! Costa Rica, will you help me with that? K, thanks.
