ASIA PACIFIC

Overview

When you think Asia, think huge. Not in a metaphorical or deep kind of way, but literally HUGE. Occupying nearly one third of the Earth’s landmass and home to over half of the world’s population, Asia is a continent to be reckoned with, and every tourist’s dream. So what do all those people do with all that space? More than can fill this brief introduction and enough to explore for a hundred lifetimes. A journey through Asia could mean climbing up (or sliding down) the Great Wall of China, one of the few man-made structures visible from space, eating at a Michelin-star sushi restaurant in a Tokyo subway, finding inner peace at an ancient Indian monastery, or experiencing the vastness of the universe on the plains of inner Mongolia. From the thriving cities to the remote villages, and the empty stretches of wilderness often found in between, the environment of Asia, too, speaks to the immensity of this continent. From the tropical paradises discovered through island-hopping the Indonesian Archipelago to the picturesque mountain and forest views depicted in Japanese prints, from the wild rapids and smooth ebbs of the Mekong River to the frozen Siberian tundra, the landscapes of Asia are as diverse and intriguing as the great number of people that inhabit them. For those who like to think big, or those who like to stay humble, Asia is the destination to fulfill all your wildest traveling dreams.
