Orientation

From the train station, a walk down Bahnhofstrasse, passing the church on your left, will bring you to the Hauptplatz. The main pedestrian street, Hauptstrasse, leads from here to Rathauspl., where a farther hike up stairs will lead to Stift Melk on the hill above. Another important historical street, Sterngasse, runs parallel to Hauptstr., as the only street untouched by the fire in 1847. Through Rathauspl., is the tourist information office.
