Orientation

The Petronell-Carnuntum train station is about a ten-minute walk from the Hauptplatz and Hauptstrasse Walk straight behind the train station down Bahnhofstr., which will gradually merge with Bruckerstr. Follow Bruckerstr. to the right until the street ends in a T at Hauptstr. A right on Haupstr. from the T-junction will take you to the Hauptpl. It is possible to walk to all the Roman ruins throughout Carnuntum.

If you are arriving in Bad-Deutsch Altenburg, you will also have a 10min. walk to the town center. From the station, follow Hainburger Str. downhill. After the sharp curve to the left, you will find yourself in the Hauptpl. with the clock tower, fountain, and cafes. To the right, Badgasse leads to the Danube and the Museum Carnuntinum, while straight ahead Weiner Str. leads to the amphitheater. Most of the main restaurants and commercial shops (although limited) are along Weiner Stasse.
