Orientation
GRASSE
We’re sorry. Orientation is hard in Grasse. One wrong left turn down the wrong alleyway could mean that you have to trek back uphill, only to find that the restaurant you wanted was at the bottom of the hill anyway. As far as basics go, the maps are hard to follow, since the numerous alleys and steps are not well marked, and may not qualify enough as streets to show up on a map. Asking for directions was never more utilized by our writers than here. Thankfully, the worthwhile museums are all centrally located, and the bus station will take you to the far away museums and parfumeries. The main areas that you must concern yourself with include the place aux Aires, where you’ll find you cafes and a weekend market of olive oils, dried fruits, and wine. The town’s nicer restaurants are located in offshoots of this place . The boulevard jeu de Ballons has all of your bars and small cafes, as wellas a theater and cinema. Hotels are located around the city, particularly around the place de Patti and in the place des Cours. The single most important place you must know is the bus station, at the top of the bl. jeu de Ballon, which will take you to the Gare SNCF, as well as Cannes, and all the campgrounds and perfumeries along the way.
