Just 15min. outside of Stuttgart lies the quaint town of Ludwigsburg, which sprung up around the legendary palace. To get the full experience for a little less, consider getting combination tickets to the Schloβen (`ResidenzSchloβ + Schloβ Favorite €8, students €4, with museums €12.50/6.30, with Blühendes Barock €15/7.50). If you’re lucky, you can catch almost-daily performing arts shows and literature readings inside the castles during the Ludwigsburg Schloβfestpiele, held every June-July.
