BATH
The Roman Baths, the Pump Room, and Bath Abbey sit at the center of Bath’s touristy, bustling city center, which is bounded by York Street and Cheap Street. The River Avon lies just to the east of them and swerves around the southernmost part of town near the train and bus stations. The legendary Pulteney Bridge, which crosses the river, is disguised by the shops that lie on both sides. It is one of only four bridges in the world with this kind of design.
Bath borders Cotswolds’ southern fringes, and the city limits are hilly. As you head north, you’ll find that the streets get progressively steeper and exhausting for travelers. Nevertheless, the view of honey-colored Georgian buildings hovering over the slopes is still gorgeous. The famed buildings of the Royal Crescent and Circus sit on these hills.
